Why I Chose to Revise My Breast Augmentation—and What You Need to Know About the Game-Changing Implants I’m Obsessed With

As many of you know from my previous posts in the Bad Moms of Long Island Facebook Group, I had a breast lift and augmentation with our favorite plastic surgeon Dr. Craig Baldenhofer over a year ago.

2 weeks ago I underwent a revision surgery to address a muscle-related asymmetry. I have a pectoral muscle abnormality in one breast, and over time it caused one implant to drop below the breast fold and settle unevenly. It required placement of Galaflex mesh to reinforce the breast fold and support the implant. Because I was already undergoing the revision, I decided to switch to Motiva implants. Their implant technology is unparalleled, and I wanted to share some information about the design of the implants, why I chose to switch, and how Bad Moms members can take advantage of an exclusive special over the next few months. If you've been considering implants, this is important information to know!

Motiva Technology

  •  SmoothSilk® / SilkSurface™: This nanosurface texture reduces inflammation, bacterial adhesion, and the risk of capsular contracture.

  • ProgressiveGel® Ultima®: A cohesive silicone gel that mimics the feel and movement of natural breast tissue, adapting to the body's posture and movements.

  • TrueMonobloc® Shell: Unifies the implant components (shell, patch, and gel) for enhanced durability, flexibility, and resistance to rupture.

  • BluSeal® Barrier Indicator: A visible layer within the implant that provides a visual check of the shell's integrity, further reducing the risk of gel leakage.

What are the real benefits?

  •  The silicone gel is designed to respond to the body's movements for a natural look and feel

  • The surface is created to be biocompatible, reducing inflammation and the risk of capsular contracture and rupture, as well as minimizing rippling

  • Various implant type and size options can accommodate diverse aesthetic goals and body types.  The Round option gives ample upper pole fullness, while the Ergonomix is incredibly natural, adapting to the body's movements to create a teardrop shape when standing and a round shape when lying down.

  • Because they were designed to look and feel so natural, they can be placed subfascially (OVER the muscle), reducing your downtime and discomfort, and virtually eliminating the likelihood of animation deformity (when implants look weird when you flex your pectoral muscle).

Results - 2 Weeks Post-Op

At 2 weeks post-op, I'm still swollen and healing, but I'm already SO happy with how they look. I chose the Round implants because I prefer the look of a fuller cleavage. I originally had 400cc implants and I stayed with that same size, so I can already see that the shape is noticeably better. I have no more issues with animation deformity because we were able to move them above the muscle without worrying about rippling or the implant being visible beneath the skin/tissue.
